There’s some national news that’s having a ripple effect on the local music scene. Members of North Carolina-based hardcore act Young and in the Way were accused of sexual assault in a statement issued by Detroit-based booking collective Trumpbullplex on Feb. 26. The band was previously set to appear at this year’s Psycho Las Vegas festival and Colorado Springs’ own 71Grind, and has subsequently been dropped from both.

Per organizer Bryan Ostrow via Facebook, posted a few hours after Trumpbullplex’s statement, “We take victim advocacy very seriously. That said, due to recent information, we will be dropping Young and in the Way from [71Grind IV].”

71Grind’s replacement headliner is the California-based Infest, who formed in 1986 and have since been considered pioneers of the dissonant and extreme wing of hardcore known as powerviolence.
