Three candidates have been named as finalists for a 4th Judicial District court judgeship created by Gilbert Martinez's retirement, effective August 1.
Nominees are Laura Findorff, Chad Miller and Erin Sokol.
Findorff is an El Paso County court judge who graduated from the University of San Diego School of Law; Miller is a defense attorney who graduated from the University of Denver law school, and Sokol is in private practice with Hogan Lovells and obtained her law degree from Georgetown University Law Center.
All are from Colorado Springs. The three were chosen by a nominating commission. Gov. John Hickenlooper is expected to make an appointment by July 12.
