When: Sat., Feb. 25, 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m. 2017
Celebrating Manitou Springs' Carnivale Parade once again, this cook-off is a local favorite tradition.
It throws amateur cooks and professional chefs into competition to see who can create the most delectable gumbo. Community judges make the final call, but they aren't the only ones who get to eat.
You can show up early to watch folks cook, or you can drop by around 10:45 to see the judging and start sampling.
The U-Turn Brass Band will be playing tunes so you can socialize, tap your toes and stuff your face before heading back to Manitou Avenue to watch the parade.
10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Soda Springs Park, 1016 Manitou Ave., Manitou Springs, free to attend, $1/two samples, manitousprings.com.
Price: Two samples for $1
