100 Cuban Artists

When: May 23-Oct. 22 2011

It's great to delve into art with a localized theme, but getting away has its advantages. And while Cuba may not seem like an obvious escape destination, its rich cultural and creative heritage is plenty to inspire the summer exhibition program at Sangre de Cristo Arts Center (210 N. Santa Fe Ave., Pueblo, Cuba & Beyond, comprising four vibrant exhibits, explores topics such as women artists, Cuban influence in Pueblo, and café culture. The show runs through the fall, and is open from 11 to 4 Tuesdays through Saturdays. (Tickets cost just $4 for adults and $3 for kids.) — Edie Adelstein
