A judge dismissed charges of assault, menacing and criminal mischief against former Springs City Councilor Lisa Czelatdko on Aug. 20.

Czelatdko was arrested Jan. 19 after her husband, Thomas, called police saying she was “throwing knives” at him. She posted bond and was released.

The former councilor, who served from 2011 to 2013, appeared in court with family members and her attorney, Pat Mika.

In a hearing lasting mere minutes, the charges were dismissed and the court file sealed at Czelatdko’s request, with the agreement of the District Attorney’s Office.

“The case was asked to be sealed by the defense, and the district attorney did not object. The judge signed the order immediately,” Mika says via email. “The statute provides for an expedited sealing of a record when the case is dismissed.”
