Do you know what to do if a wildfire or flash flood strikes?
You can get the lowdown from the Pikes Peak Regional Office of Emergency Management at a meeting from 6 to 8 p.m. May 16 at Gold Camp Elementary School, 1805 Preserve Drive.
The city’s experts in firefighting, policing and other departments will be on hand to cover the outlook for spring and summer from the National Weather Service; flood mitigation and reducing wildfire risk; evacuation planning; and geological hazards caused by shifting soils.
The city has lined up organizations to host booths on those topics and others that pertain to emergency preparedness and natural hazards.
If you can’t make the meeting, check out the city’s Emergency Preparedness and Safety Guide, found here: tinyurl.com/CS-be-safe.
