Manitou Fall Wine Walk, Sept. 20, 5-9 p.m., tinyurl.com/ManitouFallWine.
veryone loves a pub crawl, but there’s a certain appeal in classing up the practice with a little less crawling and a lot more wine. Due to popular demand, Manitou Springs will be hosting its second annual wine walk
this Thursday. With three Manitou-based businesses participating, attendees can stroll the streets of Manitou Springs on their way to Swirl Wine Bar, D’Vine Wine and Mona Lisa Fondue Restaurant for sophisticated tastes from local sommeliers and wine purveyors. Each location features light bites, three small pours of red or white wine, and a bit of wine education on the side. Swirl Wine Bar’s co-owner and sommelier Sharon Palmer said: “I go into detail of the wine to help the customers decide and make the drinking experience more interesting and educational ... or at least I hope. That’s my end game.” The event has been known to fill up, so be sure to register right away.
