27th Annual Wine Festival, Aug. 25, 5:30-7:30 p.m., 1832 N. Cascade Ave., csdance.org.
nything that lasts 27 years is impressive, but this long-running event proves even more so when you realize that Colorado Springs Dance Theatre
itself is more than 40 years old, and has brought professional dancers and dance companies to the area for decades. Their annual wine festival is more than just a tasting opportunity for wine enthusiasts, and more than just a fundraiser for CSDT’s programming. It’s a lively celebration of dance and music in Colorado Springs. The night will feature dancers spanning styles from country swing to jazz to contemporary. There will also be live music by the Colorado Springs Youth Symphony
’s String Quartet and, of course, food, wine and beer. Wineries and vendors sharing their sips include The Wine Gallery
, Spring Creek Vineyard
and Mountain Spirit Winery
, and beer will be provided by locally beloved Bristol
. Attendees can also participate in a silent auction including, among other things, an opportunity to see Hamilton
in Chicago, which is reason enough to go out and support this prolific local organization.
