Queen may not be coming to Red Rocks, but Killer Queen is

An obsessive lot by any standards, hardcore Queen fans are currently waiting out a breathless summer in anticipation of Mr. Robot star Rami Malek’s performance as Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody, a biopic that's been in the works since 2010. And while the film won't see the light of day until its November 2 release date, Red Rocks Amphitheatre is offering a consolation prize of sorts with the July 25 appearance of Killer Queen, a tribute band that’s been at it since making its own debut at London University more than two decades ago.

On the related note, this week finds The Band Currently Known As Queen heading out on their own world tour, this time with Adam Lambert at the microphone. At this point, no Colorado dates for Queen proper have been scheduled, which means the tribute show may well be your best bet.
