John Britten was arrested.
, 26, who was featured in last week’s news story “The house on Misty Drive,”
has been arrested.
Lee Richards, spokesperson for the 4th Judicial District Attorney’s Office, says records show that Britten was picked up on warrants (he had two felony warrants and one from the municipal court at the time of the story) on August 19.
Britten made a court appearance on the felony charges August 22. His next court appearances are in December.
The two felony warrants stemmed from Britten’s failure to appear for court dates relating to probation from drug charges and a burglary. Britten also had a warrant issued by the municipal court for failure to appear in court after being issued two summons by city code enforcement.
Britten lives at 4523 Misty Drive, where he regularly accumulates trash and appliances for his scrap metal business. Neighbors have not taken kindly to the mess, or to the explosives police had to set off in early August. Britten hasn’t been charged in the latter incident and says the explosives belonged to a former resident.
