In the coming weeks and months you'll find several chances to get in on some meaningful meals courtesy Care and Share Food Bank and Venetucci Farm

I say meaningful because proceeds go to support two vital local organizations: and an active food pantry which served 17 million meals to those in need last year, and a historic, sustainability-minded farm with long ties to the community.

First up, Care and Share begins its 2016 Cooking for a Cause series (which runs through November, monthly) on Thursday, June 9 with chefs from the American Culinary Federation paired with representatives from Axe and the Oak

Here's a list of future dinners:

Next, Venetucci Farm will offer three special Starlight Dinners this summer, beginning on Monday, July 18. Here's a description of each evening's format:

Join us in the big red barn at Venetucci Farm for a Farm-to-Table event. As the sun sets over Pikes Peak and the full moon rises in the eastern sky, guests will be served delicious, multi-course meals created with freshly harvested Venetucci produce and protein prepared by talented local chefs. Each course will be paired with wine by Synergy Wines and beer by Bristol Brewing Company. The evening begins with a walking tour of the farm, allowing you to associate a face and a place with the seasonal ingredients on the menu. Stories from the farm, both past and present, will invite curiosity about and connection with the complexities of sustainable food production. Everything will combine to create an experience to be savored long after the evening ends.
And here's this year's lineup:
Monday, July 18:
Featuring Chef Tyler Peoples
Springs Rescue Mission Catering

Monday, August 15:
Featuring Chef Kevin Campbell
Ranch Foods Direct

Monday, September 19:
Featuring Chef Jay Gust
Tapateria/Pizzeria Rustica
