Pueblo-based bluegrass band The Haunted Windchimes didn't plan on writing their fourth studio album when they met up with Chandler Pratt while on tour near his studio in Modesto, California. During their downtime, they swung by to knock out a few easy recordings.
"We go and start recording what we think we're going to do — just a song or maybe two — and it clicked right away," says Inaiah Lujan (vocals/guitar/bass/percussion). "Before we knew it we had eight songs, and it was all kind of ready to go ... I guess what I'm getting at is that we weren't even intending to make an album, but once we were done with this process — it took three days I think — we discovered we had an album's worth of material."
Lujan says that the band, which includes Desirae Garcia (vocals/baritone uke/bass), Chela Lujan (vocals/banjo) and Mike Clark (vocals/fiddle/guitar/mandolin), were stoked with the new material and happy that it all came together.
The new album, titled Rattle Your Bones, is set to be released on May 13 on Shadow Pine Music. Until then, enjoy their new music video for lead single "Sun Shining Bright." Pick up tickets for the album release concert at this link.
