Mesquite-smoked Olathe corn and Larga Vista tomatoes highlight the heirloom tomato sandwich, with pickled onions, arugula and crispy bacon. It’s one to the lunch options ($13 includes a soup or salad, bread and dessert) during the Margarita at Pine Creek’s Harvest Week, running through Friday. Special dinners ($36, 3-course; $42, 5-course) continue through Saturday, highlighting goods from area growers like Venetucci, Frost, Milberger and Wheeler farms.

Of area restaurants that have always walked-the-walk in regards to supporting local farms, the Margarita at Pine Creek ranks among if not at the top.

Starting today, through Saturday, the outfit is celebrating Harvest Week, with super commendable all-Colorado menus for lunch ($13 per person plus tax and gratuity) and dinner ($36 for three courses or $42 for five courses, plus tax/tip).

From a release:

The Margarita is a proud to supporter of Local Farmers, Producers & Products ... Our Menus will Celebrate the Best of the Colorado Seasons Bounty and offer Specials on Colorado Wines & Cocktails made from Local Distilleries.
Reservations can be made at 598-8667.

There's a fun, blunt edginess to serving a bread loaf that's been shivved by a chef. The Margarita's style also show through with it's loyalty to sustainability. - MATTHEW SCHNIPER
