Meet Craft Lager Fest's replacement

Back in the day, Manitou Springs' Craft Lager Festival was bully

Then along came a flood to wash it all away.

The festival never really recovered, and its newly appointed organizers failed to pull it off in 2014.

Beer drinkers were left with no festivals whatsoever and practically nowhere to drink good beer in state ... is what I'd be writing if the craft scene weren't still exploding and seeing newbie breweries and events at every turn. (Every time you hear a beer bottle-top pop a new brewery gets its TTB license.)

Hence the arrival of the inaugural Manitou Springs Heritage Brew Festival to replace the CLF (well, minus the whole lagers vs. ales focus), set to pour on Saturday, Oct. 3 in Memorial Park.
