Carmageddon is back, and it’s not the politically-incorrect PC game with the “lock up your granny” tagline.
The Colorado Springs version, as any local rockabilly or hot rod fan will tell you, is the King Pin Carmageddon
car show, which is put on annually by the local Lonely Knights Car Club.
Now in its 10th year, the free day-long event will bring pre-1973 cars and vintage rock ‘n’ roll to Southside Johnny’s
on August 29.
The competition categories — Best Kustom, Best Muscle Car, Best Truck, Best Hot Rod, Best Motorcycle, and Best Vintage Kooler — offer further proof that this is the polar opposite of those sprawling, sterile World Arena auto-dealer showcases.
The Carmegeddon folks have also announced that L.A. rock ’n’ jump-blues revivalists Vicky Tafoya & the Big Beat
will be this year's music headliners.
