I'm sorry to have to be the one to break it to you, but you're drinking tonight. At least it's up to you whether it's a lot or a little, but your ass will kill a pint at least, or you'll be banished from this craft colony. No whining.
Here are some special event options; hit one or make a rapid, progressive tour and hit all. Again, that's up to you, but you're drinking. I think I already mentioned that.
You all hold the keys needed to attend tonight's Smokebrush Porter release at Bristol Brewing Company.
• Start at 5 with Fossil Brewing Company
's Radiantly Raw Achocalypse Release
party and sample its imperial chocolate blonde ale, which incorporates Colorado honey and raw cacao. If you caught last year's Colorado Springs Craft Week Crafters' Festival
, you probably sampled the non-imperial version, but this gets big, with 9.1 percent ABV backing the same lovely flavor. There's only a single keg, so don't wait. Collaborating chocolatier Radiantly Raw
will be present to vend chocolate pairings for the beers, and Treehouse BBQ
will dish food.
• Next, you are Bristol Brewing Company
-bound for the Smokebrush Porter Release Party
, of course benefitting the Smokebrush Foundation for the Arts
and the Uncle Wilber Fountain directly. An event description from the press release:
The Thursday evening festivities will include an official group toast by Mike Bristol with remarks from Don Goede, Executive Director of the Smokebrush Foundation, small bites paired with the beer, and an art display by Langdon Foss, who designed the beer’s 2015 label. The celebration of the arts will continue with live music by Bob Tudor’s One Man Band and Crystal and the Curious, as well as the band in/Planes, featuring members of the Haunted Windchimes.
• Then it's on to Jack Quinn's
for the Meet The Team Pub Crawl
with the Switchbacks FC
team, our new soccer club
. That starts at 6 and you can pound a Guinness or a Colorado craft pint of some sort. Miss that, you can catch the boys after 7:15 at Back East Bar & Grill
. Again, plenty o' nice beer options.
• Lastly, hit up Kinfolks
anytime from 7 to 10, for CK Comics Boards and Brews
night, to continue on Thursdays for the foreseeable future. Play some board games, possibly win a raffle prize, and dine on a Mountain Pie CO
pie. The beers aren't necessarily the focus here, but Kinfolks carries a fine craft selection generally.
Remember, drink some water, drive responsibly, and insert whatever other parental-type advice you think you need to hear, here, so you don't do something stupid to ruin all the fun. Don't be that guy or girl. Think chocolate, water fountains, board games, tall soccer boys and happy thoughts — just, all laced with beer.
