Enter another beer festival

I certainly don't mean to call an event "canned" before I've had the opportunity to check it out first-hand, but America On Tap certainly has as big of a 2015 tour schedule as any major rock group.

Take out one city's name, insert the other, and hence: Colorado Springs On Tap, scheduled for Saturday, April 11, at the Colorado Springs Event Center.
Drink in the name of patriotism, friends.

Though the website points to sampling from "more than 50 of America's finest craft breweries," a press release sent to us this past Monday calls the event "the first and only national live event series dedicated to showcasing specialty and craft breweries from around the globe."

So America, or the globe? We aren't sure yet.

Regarding the craft element, let's say it's on the larger side of craft, with respectable big-name breweries like Chicago's Goose Island or Paso Robles, Calif.'s Firestone Walker, but also big boys like Samuel Adams, Shock Top and Woodchuck Hard Cider

A quote from the organizers: “Our aim is that Colorado Springs On Tap combine the best of the local and national craft and premium beer scene to deliver an unforgettable and authentic beer experience to our patrons.”

There's a single session from 2:30 to 6 p.m., and tickets are currently $35, then $45 after March 11 and $55 at the door. Live music and food vendors are scheduled but yet to be announced in terms of who's who.
