 A bit of food and drink news ahead of the weekend:

3 Hundred Days Distilling just released its initial retail bottle lineup under its 3 Hundred Days of Shine label. Six flavors — Apple Pie, Peach Cobbler, Summertime Strawberry Lemonade, Margarita Moon, Colorado Honey and Firebomb — are now available locally at Cheers Liquor Mart and Carsons Wine & Liquor, as well as Monument's Cork & Bottle Liquor. Samples may be had in the outfit's tasting room.  

A little more info from a press release: 
3 Hundred Days of Shine is a premium spirit distilled in the heart of Monument, Colo. by distiller, Michael Girard. Girard, a recently-retired United States Army EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) Veteran, has been studying distilled spirits for several years, an interest that was fueled by his fascination with the chemical processes that take place during distillation, and also by bringing traditional Western Moonshine back to the Front Range. 3 Hundred Days Distilling was created by Girard and his wife and a group of families that shared his interest in launching this local business committed to hand-crafted quality. ...
3 Hundred Days is following the long history of Moonshine culture that is unique to this region. Moonshine is typically made illegally; distilled from ingredients that are plentiful and easy to get in that region. For Colorado that was sugar beets. By using cane sugar to distill a neutral spirit that is much the same type of spirit that sugar beets would create, then adding natural flavors as was also the custom, 3 Hundred Days is producing legal shine that stays true to local traditions.
• Epicentral Coworking will host another Vegan Pop-up Market, Saturday, Dec. 20 from noon to 3 p.m. 
One new draw: a sneak peek at The Burrowing Owl, a soon-to-arrive new vegan-focused eatery and drink spot that's still searching for a location. It'll serve two signature cocktails as well as soft tacos. More on it in Side Dish as soon as it gets further along. 

• The ninth annual Glass Slipper Ball approaches on Saturday, January 24 from 7 p.m. to midnight, in benefit of the Zonta Club of the Pikes Peak Area. Tickets are $110 to sample widely from area chefs.
