Beer and wine dinners abound


Hey — lots of places are hosting beer and wine dinners and the like, soon.

What's new about that? Absolutely nothing! 

But each tends to be fun and festive in its own way, of course. So plan accordingly if you care to attend any of the following:

Bourbon Brothers Southern Kitchen will host its first brewer's dinner with guest outfit Pikes Peak Brewing Company on Wednesday, Oct. 15 at 6:30 p.m. All the menu and pricing info is on this handy flier:


• Thursday, Oct. 16 at 6:30 p.m., Coquette's Bistro offers its first Wine Dinner Immersion Night, heading to Spain thematically with five courses and live flamenco music. Seats are $65 and here's the menu:
Spanish Crudite (Manchego goat cheese, gouda, Serrano ham, sopressata, salami, olives, flat bread and roasted veggies)

Sardinas a la Santanderina (fried sardines with chile verde sauce)

Braised Pork & Loin (slow braised pulled pork and thin sliced pork loin with Spanish rice, garbanzo beans and corn)

Intermezzo (grilled pineapple and mango sorbet)

Fried Apple Fritter (fried apple slices with warmed caramel, vanilla ice crème en glace and whip cream)
• Ahead of its Lobster Week (Oct. 21-25), the Margarita at PineCreek will host a Vina Robles wine tasting dinner on Thursday, Oct. 16 as well (call for seating time). Entry is $60++ and here's the menu:

Great Storm Brewing will host the Help Us Help Our Community event on Tuesday, Oct. 21 at 4 p.m.
As described on the Facebook event page, a "percentage of our proceeds will go to helping Travis Fields of Fieldhouse Brewery in their time of need, due to a loss in their family."

• An Italian Wine Dinner to benefit CASA will be held at Motif on Wednesday, Oct. 22 at 6 p.m., at a cost of $55++ per seat. Here's the menu:
