Today, Westword published a lovely story on the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center's Matt O'Neill: Thrift Store Sublime show by much-venerated arts writer Michael Paglia.

I recommend reading the whole thing. Paglia has spectacular insights into O'Neill's work and his place in the Denver art scene (he met O'Neill for the first time in 1986, talk about institutional knowledge) but the highlight for Springsians — most especially for the FAC — comes at the very end:
In recent years, the CSFAC has been mining the local art world to find worthy subjects like Matt O'Neill to highlight. I just wish the DAM and MCA Denver would do the same thing more often than they do. It would save us all a lot of time and gas money.
The show will be up through July 13.
