Want to learn how to take fingerprints or operate a surveillance camera? Maybe assisting senior crime victims appeals to you.

Those and more opportunities are available to volunteers through the city's Community Advancing Public Safety program.

The Springs Police and Fire departments plan a volunteer fair Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Police Operations Center, 705 S. Nevada Ave., for citizens to learn more about donating their time and skills.

"If you’ve ever considered helping during a disaster or thought about assisting detectives with case files, this is the event for you," the city says in a release. "From volunteering with the CSFD CARES Program to becoming a Fingerprint Technician or Surveillance Camera Operator – the opportunities are endless. Bring a neighbor or friend and join us to learn how you can make a difference in your community!"

Programs for which CAPS is seeking volunteers are:

—Ambassadors
—CSFD CARES [RN’s Patient Navigation/Case Management]
—Crime Prevention
—Administrative Assistant Pool
—ESP [Español Service Program]
—Fingerprinting
—Surveillance Camera Operators
—SVAT [Senior Victims Assistance Team]
—Property Crimes
—Office of Emergency Management
