Now hanging at Orchard Ovens: Abstract art by Amanda Jean.
The yeti has gone cultural.
Or, to put it less cryptically, UpaDowna
is now offering bike tours
of First Friday events downtown. For $10, you're given a bike and a helmet for the evening and a leisurely ride that hits opening receptions, performances and more.
The inaugural run is tomorrow, and will hit the new batch of Art in Storefronts
artworks, Art Hardware
's grand re-opening, Orchard Ovens
for the opening of Abstracts
and a streetside concert by Burn the Maps
on Bijou. Future tours — running the first Friday of each month until October — will cover different events, but they'll all start at 5:30 p.m. at CityROCK
at 21 N. Nevada Ave. Advanced registration is required at 886-0088.
And don't forget that the Downtown Partnership
has also launched a series of art tours
that happen monthly, the Spaces//Faces//Places series
that meets the second Saturday morning of each month — focusing on a rotating group of topics: historic buidlings, significant founders and contemporary artwork downtown — and the even newer Happy Hour Tours
that happen the third Thursday of each month that unite local art history with drinks from Phantom Canyon
