Pikes Peak Urban Gardens director Larry Stebbins released an e-book this week via iBooks that can be read on any Mac gadget. Backyard Vegetable Gardening Guide: A Monthly Primer for the Organic Gardener in the Colorado Front Range and Beyond can be bought here for $9.99.

Here's Stebbins' summation of the contents:
This monthly organic vegetable gardening guide leads the beginner and veteran gardener through the seasons. It begins with how to plan and design a garden to many other tips and suggestions that will ensure a bountiful harvest. Although it was written primarily for the Colorado front range, it is widely applicable to most mid to northern states.
The book covers basic topics like composting and amending soils while offering 600 photos for reference.

Classes and community offerings — and events such as Garlic Fest — will continue into 2014 from PPUG, one of our IndyGive beneficiaries (not to mention an organization I'm on the board of).

But buy Larry's book anyway or he'll put a pitchfork through your foot next time he sees you. (Okay, not really.)
