ModboCo announces Seminar Series

Picture this: A latte at the Principal's Office, a sugary treat from Old School Bakery and a jaunt downstairs to the ModboCo School of Art for a morning of art-learnin'.

Starting Oct. 19, the ModboCo will offer five Saturday Seminars — one-time classes on arts and culture — that begin at 11 and run through 2:30 with a lunch break. (Back upstairs then?) This month's seminar will be taught by LeRad Nilles on "An Enigma, Marcel Duchamp." Nilles will cover Duchamp's life highlights, art philosophies and his career, which sped through numerous big movements. ("LeRad will illustrate his rapid path through Impressionism, Cubism, Futurism, Body Art, DADA, Surrealism, Kinetic, Conceptual and Anti Art.")

Future instructors include artists Rodney Wood and Erin Jones, and subjects vary from the beginner-friendly "Sound Smart at an Art Museum" to the higher-level-sounding "French Noir Film, Amusant!" Here's the rest of the schedule for the year:

Each Seminar costs $30 and can be purchased in advance online.
