LIBERTARIAN JAN BROOKS ANNOUNCES HER CANDIDACY TO REPLACE JOHN MORSE
Thanks to Denver District Court Judge McGahey’s ruling to uphold the Colorado Constitution and allow time for ballot access to new candidates in Senate District 11, Jan Brooks is excited to announce her candidacy to replace John Morse in the Colorado State Senate.
On Wednesday, Jan Brooks, a 31 year old sales manager, native Coloradoan and longtime resident of Colorado Senate District 11, said, "I am thrilled to have this opportunity to serve the citizens of Senate District 11 and the State of Colorado."
On Tuesday, August 13, the Secretary of State’s office quickly approved Jan’s candidacy so she could begin gathering the necessary signatures. “I am pleased by the speed and efficiency with which my eligibility was certified by the Secretary of State’s office,” Jan commented.
“We all know that this recall election was led by many citizens passionate about their Second Amendment Rights,” Jan continued. “But that was just the straw that broke the camel’s back. Senator Morse has been abusing, usurping, and ignoring the rights of Colorado citizens on a variety of issues in his seven years in the legislature.”
“From economic to social policies, John Morse has ended up on the wrong side of nearly every issue imaginable. Senate District 11 and Colorado deserve better. That’s why I’m really excited that I can give the voters of this district a choice to replace Senator Morse on September 10.” Jan will kick off her campaign on Thursday, August 15, at the regular monthly meeting of the El Paso County Libertarian Party at 7pm, after a cash dinner. Location: Fargo's Pizza 2910 E. Platte Ave., Colorado Springs, CO 80909.
