Space beer, a cupcake closure and free wine

Three things:

1) If you hadn't heard already, The Springs Cupcake Truck announced that it would be ceasing service as of this Saturday, Aug. 10. Click the above link to learn the reasons why, and keep an eye out for a friend who might be interested in launching a food truck: The "turnkey mobile food business" is for sale.

2) The Space Foundation is hosting "Rocket in My Beer? A Taste of Space Technology" between 2 and 6 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 10, in partnership with Beer Drinkers Guide to Colorado (who just released an updated edition, which I'll blog about soon). Sample from eight local craft breweries for $24 (which includes admission to the museum) and "see how space technology makes better beer — from planting barley to refrigeration, shipping and more."

3) The Colorado Association for Viticulture and Enology (CAVE), as part of its Colorado Mountain Winefest, is sponsoring free tastings of Colorado wine across the state next week. The host locally is the Warehouse Restaurant and Gallery, which will pour 47-Ten red or white wine from Palisade-based Canyon Winds Cellars on Wednesday, Aug. 14. The deal's simple, says Warehouse assistant manager Stephanie Falko: every guest to the eatery that day will be offered a complimentary glass of wine.
