Catch a councilor's ear at townhalls

Want to talk about solar gardens, downtown, recreational marijuana or water restrictions? Here's your chance to give Colorado Springs Councilman Don Knight an earful.

Don Knight, marijuana, watering restrictions
  • City of Colorado Springs
  • Knight: He's all ears.

Knight will hold three town hall meetings this month to listen to his constituents in District 1, which covers the northwest portion of the city.

Dates, times and places:

Today from 7:30-9 a.m.: Mesa Conservation & Environmental Center, Conference Room 1045, 2855 Mesa Road.
Tuesday from 6-8 p.m.: Fire Station 14, 1875 Dublin Boulevard.
Thursday from 6-8 p.m.: Fire Station 18, 6830 Hadler View. This is right behind the Colorado Springs Together Office in Mountain Shadows.

Knight says he wants to hear from residents about community solar gardens, downtown development, licensing retail marijuana sales, park watering, stormwater repair, street and curb repair, and water rationing.

A representative from Colorado Springs Utilities' water division will be on hand.

Knight was elected in April to replace Scott Hente, who was prevented from seeking a third term by term limits. At-large councilor Tim Leigh also ran for the seat and was defeated.
