As you might imagine, we receive more letters to the editor each week than we're able to print.
The following is one such letter, from Ebo Thorbas to Paul Konecny, director of the Marian House Soup Kitchen.
Its subject line reads: "A Necessary Major Change All Will Come To Love."
And prefacing the letter, Ebo writes quite the alliterative summation: "Pounding Pressure at the Pestilences where the People can be helped to Prosper."
Thank you for the good work you do for so many.
This is to emphatically suggest that you move Catholic Charities and all its supporters in Colorado Springs to feeding an entirely VEGAN diet at the Marian House Soup Kitchen.
More studies come to mainstream public light that affirm the far healthier character of the Vegan way.
You will also find that your contributors will have an easier task in supporting the Soup Kitchen when they no longer need to supply you with meat and dairy products.
Yes, of course, it is a significant task of substantial proportion to accept an idea like this but the benefits are very worth the effort and the extent to which you are not aware of that fact today only indicates the strength of an established form of industry that just doesn’t care about people at the level appropriate to an entity such as Catholic Charities.
Please take this suggestion seriously, establish whatever committee it may require to look into all the relevant considerations and begin your next wider task of putting the welfare of all the local community on the map that proves real caring.
So there you have it: a call for compassion and change.
And proof of PETA's assertion that "the vegetarian and vegan community is gaining steam — and we're a growing force to be reckoned with!"
