As we reported today, the county's Republican and Democratic parties are coming together on Tuesday, July 31, to hold a fundraiser to support those people who were affected by Waldo Canyon Fire.
I would like to suggest a slight addition, inspired by a fundraising event sponsored by a paintball business in Phoenix.
Before Republicans and Democrats battle for votes in the upcoming election, they’ll first take part in the ultimate game of paintball. Brave politicians will step up to prove they can lead on the paintball field, as well as at the Capitol, by commanding teams of up to 100 patriots who will also take part. Bragging rights aren’t the only thing on the line, both parties will also receive a hefty cash reward to stuff their coffers.
Would you pay money for this? I would. I'd throw them 20 bucks. And if it was for a good cause, all the better.
Which is exactly what we have coming up. What I suggest is that Eli Bremer and Christy Le Lait, the chairs of the Republican and Democratic parties, respectively, get together and hammer out the details of an all-out paintball tourney between their members for this upcoming fundraiser. Bremer, as we know, is an Olympic athlete who competes, in part, in shooting at stuff. And I'm sure that there are plenty of Democrats who'd love a chance to launch a paintball in any Republican's direction. So why not add a little excitement to this already good idea?
