Group gets extra signatures needed to vote on marijuana

The Campaign to Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol sent out a release today saying the 2,400 signature shortfall of a few weeks ago has been met with the delivery last Friday of over 14,000 additional signatures to the Secretary of State's office.

The news came with one more piece of fun: an endorsement from former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson:

Along with discussing the relative safety of marijuana compared to alcohol, he highlighted the importance of the Colorado initiative at the national level, telling one television news station:

"Coloradans have the chance to end marijuana prohibition for the entire country. There has to be a first, and Colorado has that opportunity. The more people talk about this, the more people understand this, the better the chance is for [marijuana prohibition] to end."
