After weeks of a debating over whether or not tonight's executive committee meeting of the El Paso County Republican Party was properly called or not, vice-chairman David Williams has canceled the meeting.
According to Williams, chairman Eli Bremer, who was in Moscow during the past week for a modern pentathlon world-level competition, made important concessions on discussions for the next EC meeting, scheduled now for the 26th.
From an e-mail:
Dear Executive and Central Committee,
I have been informed and assured that Chairman Bremer has agreed to place on the agenda for the meeting on September 26th discussions related to passing a properly balanced budget and Donor Advised Fund. Considering that these major topics will be addressed when Chairman Bremer is available, I feel it important at this juncture to avoid any unnecessary fights. In the interest of party unity this meeting will be cancelled for all intensive purposes. You are welcome to stop by, but no official business will be conducted.
I will still perform my legal duty and call the meeting to order as was originally scheduled, but then it will have to be immediately adjourned. I will also stay and make sure that those who do not receive this message will be made aware of the situation should they still attend.
Again, I ask that all members of the committee consider the documents that have been made available to them. It is my hope that we have a thoughtful and fruitful discussion on September 26th.
For those on the Central Committee, thank you for your attention and input regarding this situation. Please continue to provide your valued opinion and make sure to participate on September 26th.
