With nearly two weeks to go until election day, 42,331 people have already cast their votes in the city's mayoral runoff election, as of Wednesday afternoon.
That's nearly 28 percent of the 151,239 ballots sent out.
The high turnout so early in the race could mean that many people have already made up their mind about who they want the next mayor to be. It also could mean that the mayoral runoff will see a higher-than-expected turnout.
April's election started off very slowly, but voter participation surged in the final days before the election and on election day itself. All told, 59.81 percent of eligible voters cast a ballot a month ago.
