When I was a kid, I dreaded going to the doctor and the dentist.
Now that I'm an adult, I realize how darn lucky I was that my mother could afford to pay for health and dental insurance. Without it, who knows what would have happened when I broke my arm, or chipped my tooth or got pneumonia?
To reach kids who aren't as lucky as I was, Ronald McDonald House Charities has a mobile medical/dental van that travels to low-income areas and treats kids near their homes. The van will be at Meadows Park Community Center on March 22.
If your child needs a check-up, be sure to make an appointment soon.
