A Promise fulfilled

Last August, we blogged about Promise, a disabled horse who was rescued from the streets of Longmont. Over time, she was slowly trained to become less fearful of humans and other horses.

For several years, Promise lived at Reach Out to Horses in Golden. But during that time, she forged a strong bond with visiting horse rehabilitator Helen Dryland, who runs an equine sanctuary in France. Dryland and ROTH decided to send Promise to the sanctuary and worked to raise the $10,000 required to safely send Promise there.

At the time of the August post, they had raised about $8,200 and happily, come September they'd raised the required amount. By the end of October, Promise was at home in Southern France after a month of travel and quarantine.
