The BiblioFile

Each month, the Indy features "Fine Print," a book/writing-related piece, as well as "Short Stories," made up of three book reviews, in its print pages. But we recognize that there is much more to be said about the local writing community than we have the space for to publish in the paper.

In light of this, I'm debuting a regular blog posting called "The BiblioFile," in which I'll be reporting on recent publications, related writing events, signings, etc. I'll also be mining the information you send for possible print stories and reviews.

If you are a local author with a book about to be released, or if you've written a book that's been released within the past month, drop me a note and I'll do my best to share your news.

With that, on to some new titles, presented in order of release date:

J.M. Cornwell, a frequent contributor to the Chicken Soup for the Soul anthologies, has a new piece, "The Crying Machine," in the new Chicken Soup installment, Family Matters, released Oct. 19.

Just in time for the holidays: Susie Binkley's Thanksgiving Pie for the Animals, released Nov. 4.

Lethal Warrior: When the New Band of Brothers Came Home by David Philipps, Gazette reporter, hit bookshelves Nov. 9.

Romance writer Angel Smits will debut A Message for Julia, with Harlequin Super Romance on Dec. 7.

And Dan Woolley's story of survival in Haiti, Unshaken: Rising from the Ruins of Haiti's Hotel Montana, will be available Dec. 28.
