As I noted last week, the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo has been named one of the top zoos in the nation by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums Accreditation Commission.
"That's great news for the animals," you're thinking, "but what's this got to do with me?"
Well, for one thing, you heartless utilitarian, it means you get free stuff.
The zoo attributes its accreditation partly to the high level of community support it enjoys, and so it's choosing to celebrate with a week of fun times and freebies: the From the Zoo to You Community Accreditation Celebration.
Thursday, Nov. 11, for example, admission to the zoo is buy-one-get-one-free.
And then on Friday, zoo members who visit between 9 a.m. and noon will get a coupon for free giraffe crackers as well as a free T-shirt. Sounds like a good excuse to become a member — which is apropos, considering that Friday is your last day to get new family and higher memberships for $10 off.
Act now! Go feed the giraffes! They're ready to party! (So are the naked mole rats, but no one wants to feed them by hand.)
