"Poetic Turns," a Poetry West Workshop with Joe Hutchison on "poetic turns," or shifts in the POV, tone, syntax or other element that surprises the reader and often signals revelation. An Autumn Tea, a catered tea (offered at two times) to benefit the Junior League of Colorado Springs. Teas include a pot of cream tea, fresh house-made scones, served with cream, lemon curd and strawberry jam, seasonal fruit clafoutis and more. "To the Moon!", a chance to meet sci-fi and fantasy authors Rebecca Moesta and Kevin J. Anderson and learn about the new book, Moonbase Crisis, which follows students who travel into the future to create a permanent lunar base. Following that, meet June Scobee Rogers, widow of Challenger Space Shuttle STS 51L Commander Dick Scobee. Rogers will give a presentation over lunch at the East Library.
