What follows is a brief appeal from Denver's Buntport Theater, a cast of Colorado College alums whom we've written about fairly regularly over the last decade. (Here's one feature to give you a small taste of their style.)
If you've been to Buntport Theater lately you know that we are trying to raise money in order to bring Kafka on Ice back to the stage. Perhaps you've already donated to this cause. If so, we thank you! If you haven't donated or would like to ask friends and family to pitch in, here is the sob story:
In 2004 we created a production called Kafka on Ice. It was a success (the Westword wrote "It's safe to say that no one—anywhere—is doing theater like this.") and we've always wanted to remount it. However, several years later, a trailer containing all of our props, costumes, and synthetic ice was stolen. Very sad. Now in our Tenth Season in Denver, we are raising the money to bring Kafka back! As we write this e-mail, we have so far managed to raise $9,428 of the $14,000 we need. The current phase of our fundraising plan is this e-mail campaign. For the month of October, you can donate on Chip In through this link.
Our e-mail campaign goal is $2000, but any amount is helpful!! Even $10. After all, this is our tenth season...and it's the tenth month of 2010! In addition to donating yourself, we are also humbly asking you to forward this e-mail to your friends and family with a brief note about why you support us. Help us get closer to our total goal by passing this on!
Thank you so much for supporting original work in Denver!
