Tom Mowle, Democratic candidate for El Paso County clerk and recorder, is making the rounds on the campaign trail and released this schedule so that voters can meet him and ask questions:
6 p.m. — Debate with his Republican opponent County Commissioner Wayne Williams at Colorado Springs Christian School.
7 p.m. — VFW Post 7829 at the Depot in Palmer Lake.
Wednesay, Sept. 29:
11:30 a.m. — Fountain Senior Center.
Wednesday, Oct. 6:
5:30 p.m. — Debate at Stargazers.
Mowle's release also said:
The office of Clerk and Recorder matters.
It matters because you use its services every year, when you vote, and when you get license plates. If the Clerk's job isn't done right, if you get poor service at motor vehicles, or endure a poorly-organized polling site on election day, you'll notice.
It matters because the Clerk has the 2nd largest budget among all the county elected offices. There is a lot of money to be saved there by using business principles to hold down costs while also improving the service provided.

In another race, Pete Lee, Democratic candidate for state House District 18, issued a fundraising letter saying he needs a new pair of shoes.
I need a new pair of shoes! I've knocked on over 8500 doors so far - and worn out two pairs of shoes along the way. But I still have a great distance to walk before I reach every voter in House District 18. I have the stamina and, thanks in part to those friendly voters, the sustenance to knock on even more doors, but I need new footwear. Nothing fancy - just some solid walking shoes with good arch support. Can you help? With your $25 donation, I can get a decent pair of shoes - with $50, I can get a great pair.
The maximum individual contribution for a pair of shoes is $400 - and if you've already donated the maximum, thank you. But if you haven't, please consider making a donation today by clicking here, or visit VotePeteLee.com. I promise to keep walking, talking, and eating healthy for the final six weeks. Thanks for your loyal support!
P.S. Of course, all donations will actually be used to pay for all of the regular campaign "stuff" - mailings, yard signs, and advertising. I'd rather walk barefoot than misuse your generosity! And if you'd rather mail a donation, please send it to: Committee to Elect Pete Lee, P.O. Box 63894, Colorado Springs, CO 80962.
Lee's Republican opponent is Karen Cullen.
