Blast from my past: The Muppet Museum of Art

So I might be betraying my ultimate dorkdom here, but I happened upon this find yesterday evening and I was so excited I could hardly stand it.

Back when I was a toddler, my favorite TV show was Muppet Babies. And of all the episodes I watched, one really stuck with me, and this was obviously the art episode where the babies create their own masterpieces and tumble through a series of paintings.

Well, much to my joy, I found the episode on YouTube, and was pleasantly surprised to find that this kids show has some pretty remarkable depth. With wit and swiftness, the plot incorporates not only some lesser-known works by van Gogh, Renoir, Picasso and da Vinci, but also pieces by Frederic Remington, Piet Mondrian, August Rodin, Jackson Pollock and Thomas Gainsborough.

Here it is, in all it's 1980s glory, my friends. If you're pressed for time, skip to the third video for the adorable music number and this little gem by baby Gonzo, "Framed by my favorite person in the world!"
