Senate debate slated for July 20

Candidates for U.S. Senate will be under the microscope from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 20, at Stargazers Theater, 10 S. Parkside Drive.

The forum is hosted by the Coalition for a Prosperous America, a coalition of manufacturing, agricultural, worker, consumer and citizen interests who promote free trade to bolster the American economy.

David Anderson, with the Colorado Springs Manufacturing Task Force of Colorado Springs, is a director of the coalition.

Republicans seeking the seat are Ken Buck and Jane Norton. Democrats are incumbent Michael Bennet and Andrew Romanoff.

Local agencies supporting the debate include the Board of County Commissioners, the Greater Colorado Chamber of Commerce, the Colorado Springs Regional Economic Development Corporation, the El Paso County Democratic and Republican parties and local media organizations.
