Republican candidates for El Paso County sheriff are making the rounds as the campaign kick into high gear for the final five weeks before the Aug. 10 primary election.
Monument Chief Jake Shirk and incumbent Sheriff Terry Maketa will square off this morning from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at the Canon National Bank, 518 N. Chelton Road. Please RSVP if you plan to attend to Chris, 632-3526, or firstname.lastname@example.org, as space is limited.

Both of these candidates will have equal allotment of time to answer questions from the audience as well as having been given the five predetermined topics of discussion - Immigration, Medical Marijuana, Public Safety, Fiscal Transparency & Responsibility and Integrity.
