I really love the Colorado Gators Reptile Park. Not because I've ever even been there, but just on principle.
I've blogged about Mr. Bo Mangles and fishing events, but here's one more reason why it's grown on me: this weekend's Eggfest. I'd describe it myself, but the information is best conveyed by our park liaison, Erwin Young, who writes as follows:
Colorado Gators Reptile Park is having its annual Eggfest this weekend, July 3rd and 4th, 2010. Eggfest is a celebration of the alligators nesting season and many "eggciting" events are planned. Egg tosses, egg races, and canoe races will be held, and hot dogs will be available. This weekend also marks the beginning of the carp tournament and all carp caught may be fed to the alligators. What better way to celebrate Independance Day than taking your kids fishing, eating hot dogs, and feeding the fish to American Alligators? The park is open 9am to 7pm and events will be from 11am to 5pm each day. For more information call 719-378-2612 or check out www.coloradogators.com.
Maybe it speaks to the redneck in me. I grew up with an indoor sofa on the back patio after all.
