Sean Anglum, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo's Public Relations and Special Events Manager for 11 years, is making like Kitchi the otter and leaving the zoo. His resignation is effective after the Run to the Shrine event May 22.
Presumably unlike Kitchi, who breached an outside containment area in late March and hasn't returned, Anglum has specific plans for his survival. He's accepted a position with the Imagination Celebration.
Here's his adios to friends:
Media friends, associates, colleagues, peers….
With all respect and gratitude, I am notifying you today of my resignation as Public Relations and Special Events Manager of Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. My last day working at the Zoo will be Saturday, May 22 at our Run to the Shrine event.
Working at the Zoo and interacting with all of you has been a life-changing experience for me; an experience that I will never forget. This is a decision that I have thought about very carefully, and feel is right for me and my family.
I now have opportunities to use my talents in new and exciting ways, with new faces and venues at Imagination Celebration. I am anxious to start my new adventures with Imagination Celebration at the end of the month. Though I will continue to work with the vast majority of you in my new job, I wish to extend to each of you a heartfelt “Thank You” for all the assistance you have given me and Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in the past 11 years. It’s been a great ride! I trust that you will work with my successor in continuing to help make the Zoo the wonderful and important place that it is.
As my departure from the Zoo grows nearer, I will forward to you my updated contact information. Until then, there is still a ton of stuff to do at the Zoo, so let’s get with it. Don’t forget that this Thursday is the media introduction of our summer exhibit, Naked Mole Rats, at 10:00 am. Hope to see media there.
All the best,
