Well, March is over, and with it the first quarter of fundraising heading up to November's election.
In Colorado's U.S. Senate race, the first candidate to trumpet her first-quarter tally appears to have been GOP frontrunner Jane Norton, who announced she'd raised $816,000, bumping her total haul up to $1.9 million.
No word yet on fundraising from her primary rivals, Ken Buck and Tom Wiens.
As the Denver Post's Lynn Bartels observes, someone on Norton's staff may have been in too much of a rush to deliver the good news, posting on her Web site: “All told, XX% of Norton’s XXXX donors reside in Colorado.” (That was changed to "All told, 83% of Norton’s 4,560 individual donors reside in Colorado.”)
