Two quick gardening notes:
The first — be thinking about soil amendments soon to make sure you aren't growing in a nutrient bereft dirt patch. One great option for fertilizer is horse manure, and a new program being offered by young adults at the Dale House is offering just that.
For $35 per cubic yard (enough for a 15-by-15 foot garden), you'll receive a huge poop delivery to your driveway. Add $15 per cubic yard extra and another $15 to have the pile wheel barrowed to your garden for you. Call Philip at 344-1201 for more.
Second — The next Pikes Peak Urban Gardens vegetable gardening class will take place from 10 to 11:30 a.m., Saturday, March 13 at Galileo School (1600 N. Union Blvd.). Entry cost $1 and you'll learn more about what you should be doing this month to prepare for this year's growing season.
