Freedom gets bid for Arizona papers

Freedom Communications, owner of The Gazette in Colorado Springs, has agreed to sell its papers in Arizona for just over $2 million, according to a Web site.

The bidder is Randy Miller who the Web site says owns a Telluride newspaper and one in Tuscon, Ariz.

The sale is subject to the bankruptcy court's approval. Freedom is expected to emerge from bankruptcy this spring or summer. There's been no word of whether other properties, including The Gazette, are for sale.
