Remember Rich Tosches' Dec. 24 column ("Focus on ... the Super Bowl," Ranger Rich) breaking the news to the world that Focus on the Family was planning a 30-second pro-life TV ad during the upcoming Super Bowl about Florida quarterback Tim Tebow and his mother?
Nobody would confirm (or deny) it at the time, and in fact Focus official Gary Schneeberger insisted to Tosches that Tim Tebow would not be in any such ad.
Oops. Thou shalt not ... what?
Schneeberger told the Denver Post on Friday that the ad was taped Tuesday, indeed with both Tebow and his mother, to air during the Feb. 7 Super Bowl on CBS, and costing at least $2.5 million. The ad also will apparently run during the network's pregame show.
Score that one for Tosches and the Independent, three weeks ahead of everyone else.
