Thanks to Black Pegasus and other local hip-hop performers, some 300 extra families spent the past week coming up with new ways to disguise Thanksgiving leftovers.
“We realized there’s a lot more power in that community than we thought,” says Black P of the Springs’ hip-hop nation.
In addition to the turkey money raised for Care and Share at the November 20th Union Station benefit, the rapper says the “gang of canned foods” and other non-perishables collected went well beyond expectations.
Those who missed out on the giving can still drop off new toys at a permanent display the artist has set up at the club, while those who missed out on the music can check out the hip-hop open mics Black P is hosting there every Wednesday night.
