Visiting Writers Series: Jim Moore

When: Thu., Feb. 28, 7 p.m. 2013

By now, the name Jim Moore should sound familiar to you. The poet and guest professor has been part of Colorado College's Visiting Writers Series for several years, and he returns again at 7 this evening in the Gates Common Room (1025 N. Cascade Ave., for a free reading. Moore earned a Guggenheim Fellowship in 2012 following the 2011 release of Invisible Strings; New and Selected, his eighth compilation, is expected later this year. Read his bio on Guggenheim's website for a taste of what informs his work, including time spent incarcerated as a conscientious objector during the Vietnam War and the witnessing of a terrorist attack at a U.S. airport. Heady stuff, fit for a poet's hands and your ears. — Matthew Schniper
